tutti i santi & the 1st NaBloPoMo...

do you NaBloPoMo?
no?? when then, go here first...
yes!...well, keep reading...
my goals for the month of postings~~ daily gratitude, exploration of poetry styles, & working on travel notes: past, present & future. come join the fun!
one group i was quick to join is 30 days of thanks, created by boogiemum. what an apt project for the month of november's blog posts! 2 other groups i could not resist...sognatrice's italy lovers & travel blogs: those who wander, created by kristy lee gogolen.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
30 days of thanks...today i am reminded of & grateful for those who are an excellent example to me, for today is all saints' day...a celebration of the heroes of faith, known & unknown.(all saints' icon image source)
i have always been especially fascinated by the life of St. Therese of Lisieux. imagine my surprise when i discovered my background from my birth mother~~ a branch of our family originates in france & she named me after the very saint i had so long felt a kinship with. our connection is often beyond that which we may understand.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
traveling...decisions, decisions! in the spring it is venezia & roma...but where to lodge? if anyone has a word or two of wisdom for an off-the-beaten path, quaint place to stay in either city, please feel free to share. i see before me, in the next few days, a rather large pile possibilities to sift through...much larger than past trips. this time it is just D. & i, no children...& that means more lodging options~~ maybe too many options! (britt-arnhild, thank you for your suggestion!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
poetry...to be found at write away. this very short week of NaBloPoMo i am still experimenting with haiku. for the remaining 4 weeks of november, i will choose, & hopefully gain some more insight in other poetic forms.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
& finally...all hallows' eve's last hurrah...because some of our dear kin could not be here last night...a glimpse into the spooky fun...
the path our trick or treaters needed to trod for a thrill & a snack...
our delightful jacks...greeters of the eve...
the all hallows' eve fairy (aka K-Bug!), who hung around our garden of spook...
one fine greek warrior & his sidekick, the hotdog!!!
actually...3 hot dogs!...

a fun night was had by all (except the frenetically barking hounds!)

Woohoo! And we're off!

What an interesting "coincidence" about St Therese...I put that in quotes because I don't believe in coincidences ;)
